Hope According to James Cone

“Anybody who loses hope and gives up in despair, they die.”  These words come from the lips of a man who identified with power that comes from powerlessness; he is James H. Cone.

James Cone discusses race and racism in America, using the imagery of the Cross on which the Romans killed Jesus of Nazareth, and the Lynching Tree, which white America used in terrorizing black people–after the American Civil War.
